Welcome Message

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great honour and pleasure that we invite you to the XVIII PhD Meeting in Psychology, taking place on the 18th and 19th of May 2023 at Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon, in Lisbon.

Following last year’s return to an in-person format, we are thrilled to once again welcome you back at Iscte for another edition of our PhD Meeting in Psychology.

The meeting is a scientific gathering of Psychology students that aims to promote debate surrounding current topics of interest in different fields of psychological research.

The conference is a platform for PhD students to share their recent work and projects. However, undergraduate, Master students, Postdoc and more senior researchers are also invited to present or attend the meeting and contribute to the debates at hand. In addition, the event aims to connect people and provide the opportunity to exchange ideas and receive feedback from peers, while creating a constructive space for exploring future collaborations between researchers. Finally, we will also have the pleasure to learn from guest speakers who will share their insights during the event.

This year’s theme is: “Building Bridges: Psychology in an interconnected, unequal and changing world”.

With advancements in technology, the world has become increasingly interconnected, making it easier for researchers from different fields to come together and move science forward. Psychology is no exception, with the field witnessing a rapid evolution and communicating more and more with other disciplines. This interconnectivity between fields has also the potential to provide more efficient responses to tackle inequality in an increasingly changing world.

This conference aims to explore how the different fields within Psychology communicate and “build bridges” with each other and other disciplines to address current societal challenges happening in an ever-changing world.

We’re looking for new prospects and paths within the discipline, namely new research themes, novel approaches, and innovative methods.

Participation in the XVIII PhD Meeting is open and free to all presenting and non-presenting authors upon registration.

We look forward to seeing you in May!
